Our Mission
The Whistlestop Dance Company is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Whistlestop Dancers are performers, choreographers, mentors, and teaching artists. They offer a wide variety programs for children and adults of all ages and abilities.
Programs 
Dancing Times and Cultures 

"I can't remember the last time I had so much fun at school! It is so difficult to pull off an event that is equally fun for kids and adults, but that is just what you did. It was a really special night. I hope you will be up for doing it again next year!" - a parent


Learn folk and world dances, plus dances from the United States, like the charleston  Culminate the residency with a Family Dance Night, where students teach families the dances they have learned and everyone dances together. and jitterbug, that have roots from many cultures.

 
Dancing Science

"Science is fun when you mix it with dancing." - a fourth grade class

With hands-on inquiry-based science as an inspiration, learn to communicate and deepen understanding of science by dancing topics like organisms, balance, liquids, electricity, rocks and more.

 

Dancing Math

Discover how to dance number sense, algebraic sense, and geometric sense. In lessons based on both math and dance standards, explore math concepts like polygons, patterns, symmetry, fractions, and transformations through dance.

Infuse dance and music, by exploring beat, rhythm, tempo, dynamics, staccato/legato, and form. Choreograph dances to a variety of musical styles and forms.
